before semester spring 2010 starts

This is my first blog. I haven't blogged since back in the Xanga days.
So my life here recently has been filled with short and pointless days at work while barely making enough money to survive. My boyfriend, Payden, has really been helping pay my rent and dues for Alpha Phi. When I am not working I am either planning things for my Alpha Phi chapter, since I am the currently VPPD (and very proud of that fact) or spending time with Payden and/or any friends that I can find time to do things with. I love the fact that my new job (which really isn't all that new considering I worked there back in high school) because unlike the hotel (which is were I came from) I get to make my own schedule so I can do as much as I can for the chapter. Which was my main goal. I love my chapter and my sisters and my position and I want to be the best VPPD that I can be for my chapter. I am also spending alot of time going to every home basketball game for the Wichita State Shockers! I am obessed with basketball and my favorite player is by far Garrett Stutz. I am really enjoying my time in college and I really feel as if this is going to be the best time of my life.

My goals for this new year/semester are thus follows:
  1. work my butt off and make a kick ass GPA. That would be really nice.
  2. to be the best VPPD that I can be for my chapter.
  3. to spend more time with my family and my boyfriend
  4. to not be as upset when people feel the need to correct me
  5. to not take as many things seriously when people say them to me
  6. to accept the small things and enjoy life
  7. stop trying to plan each and every detail in my life
My boyfriend has told me that this summer he is going to buy my engagement ring and that before next elections for Alpha Phi I will have my candle passing. I am very excited to become engaged and start planning my wedding. I can't wait to offically marry my best friend and become Mrs. Payden Hamilton.
I believe that is all that I really have to say at the moment.

Homemade NuWay Burgers

Growing up in Wichita, Kansas my husband has always known about the 'crumply burgers' at NuWay. I on the other hand had never heard of such a thing and never had the nerve to try the restaurant chain that I had never heard of. Yet since we have been dating since high school he eventually got me to try it and I have loved them ever since. When we moved out on our own I wanted to try and save money and figured I could make the 'crumply burgers' myself. After some trial and error I have come up with a recipe that works perfectly for us. A friend asked me to share the recipe, remember that I am not a chef though so there are no real measurements for the recipe but more of a "do what you feel is right". Wyatt’s 2nd Birthday!

I guess I forgot to write about Wyatt’s 2nd birthday, and that makes me said because that was such a fun party to plan since he actually has things he shows interest in now! Wyatt's 2nd birthday party was Elmo themed and it turned out so good! I am Kinda over board on planning and have “Pinterest perfect” parties by I love every bit of the crazy my planning makes me.
