Newest Family Addition
Payden is such an amazing husband. He has been wanting to get me a kitty as a Christmas gift but I could never find one that I liked enough to adopt, and we knew that we wanted to adopt from the Humane Society so it was only a matter of time before I found one that I feel in love with.
Yesterday I was looking online at the Kansas Humane Society's website, because he told me to, and found a 2 month old kitten named Mandy that I could not say no too. Lucky for me when I called they said she was still available for adoption and that I could put a hold on her to pick her up the next day. So the next thing I know, I am doing it! I had her on hold for us! And I couldn't wait to go get her the next day.
Last night Payden and I talked about what we wanted to change her name to, because obviously I couldn't keep my cat named my best friend's name, and we decided upon Vegas. What a perfect name for our first animal as husband and wife. So Vegas was her name and we started cleaning up the apartment to get things ready for the cat to come home the next day.
Today Payden and I went to the grocery store to do a little grocery shopping and to pick up the litter box and all of the goodies for Vegas. And then we were off to go get her. The adoption process went very smoothly, not that I thought it wasn't going to but since I had never done it before I wasn't quite sure what to expect. We got all of our information in the system and got her microchip information all dealt with, played with her a little bit, learned about her medical history and then payed for her. Once she was paid for she was on her way home.
Her ride home was so adorable. We opend up the top of her carry box and she was just jumping up on the sides and watching Payden drive and looking out the window. We have come to find out that she is quite the adventure and loves to find hiding spots. She ran around our apartment and explored for hours after we brought her home, found her litter box and played around with that (which means she is adjusting well to her new home) and found a few hiding spots and things that she likes to play with. She seems to be a little onrey and loves to run around and have people chase her. She is so cute and her playful attitude is really keeping Payden entertained while I am at work.
I am very excited that Payden and I decided to start our new year off by extending our family.
