Movie Review: Taken 3

Image
Thursday (today) on our day off we enjoyed a mid day movie date to see Taken 3.  What do I say about this movie: it was good but it is exactly what you expect. If you seem one, you've seen them all but Payden loves them so I don't mind watching them. It was a good movie with a lot of action. Nothing else to really say about it though. A four star rating for enjoyment but not creativity.  But a great day date with the hubby!

Mid-Week Activities

I so love having Thursdays off with Payden. It's nice to take a break from work and do something fun and/or productive in the middle of a work week.  Wednesday (1-28-15): My coworker Terrance let me off early so I could make it in time to the WSU basketball game with my best friend Maggi.  Wednesday I also started a new book (book review already posted).  Thursday (1-29-15): We started our day off by dropping my car off for its FIRST oil change. And then took my sister Tiffani to breakfast at this super popular place in Wichita (named Auntie Mae's Cafe) and I had the biggest, most wonderful, cinnamon roll.  Thursday we also went and looked at a few more houses (and may have fallen in love with one). And did some shopping and ended the day with a mid afternoon movie date to see Taken 3 (movie review to follow).  And I ended Thursday with a shopping and dinner date with my best friend Kayla.  It was a fun day off!

What I'm Reading: 10th Edition

After I had completely finished the Divergent series there was a fourth book that came out so I am finally getting around to reading it.  It is writing about my favorite character in the series and I love the way the writer writes so it ought to be good.

My Week in Photos: Round 17

Sunday- January 18th: Balacony movie date with the husband to see "American Sniper".  Tuesday- January 20th: my new origami owl charms from my sorority little, Annie.  Wednesday- January 21st: watching a WSU away game with some of my favorite people including my favorite person ever: my husband!  I'm slightly obsessed with this photo!  Thursday- January 22nd: movie date with my friend Tristan. Although we hated the movie it was a fun girl's night.  Friday- January 23rd: starting the new book in the "Pretty Little Liars" series.  Sunday- January 25th: off to our first round of house shopping! I can't believe we are going to be homeowners later this year! (If everything goes correctly).

Movie Review: Foxcatcher

Image
My friend Tristan and I varied from our book to movie list and went and saw "Foxcatcher".  Well we shouldn't have varied from our norm because this movie was two hours too long and left us confused. Not because the storyline was confusing but because we didn't understand why it took so long for the story to get through the details.  I'd give the movie a two star rating only because the acting was phenomenal. But that's about all that I liked from the movie.

Movie Review: American Sniper

War movies have always been Payden's favorite but when it comes to Chris Kyle it a must see. He owns and has read every book by (or about) Chris Kyle and we knew this movie was a must see for us. Plus Clint Eastwood directed it so that's an added bonus for Payden.  Needless to say we loved the movie. I was so moved by the story of his life. He was such an amazing, dedicated man for this country and we were lucky to have him serve. It saddens me he had to leave this world so soon and in such the way he did. Really you should go see this movie, it is so moving and this man deserves the love and respect that he is given. It is easily a 5 star rating.  We also recommend readying his book about his life too.

What I'm Reading: 9th Edition

I'm currently in the process of trying to catch up on the three most recent books in the "Pretty Little Liars" series. My sister Tiffani always buys me the most recent one for my birthday or Christmas.  I love this series- both the book and tv. The books are always a super easy read and it's nice to have something easy to read and relax to.

My week in photos: Round 16

Sunday- January 4th: a full day of Wichita State basketball with my friend Eldon. First the women's game:  Second the men's game: Monday- January 5th:  started a new book. The next book in the "Pretty Luttle Liars" book from where I left off. I now have three to read to catch up on the book series.  Wednesday- January 7th: I was getting off at 7pm while the game started at 7. So I was running behind to meet Maggi. She had everything ready for me when I got there!  Game day photo with my best friend Maggi. With the sign we made quoting a Taylor Swift song.  And a normal photo. We occasionally act like we like each other.  Thursday- December 8th: my new hoodie from my parents. A few of my favorite things: WSU, SOA and Marshall.  Friday- December 9th:  I finally found something to hold all of my hair tools.

New Year. New Hair.

My hair has been annoying me and I knew I needed to do something new.  I contacted my best friend Caroline's older sister, Liz.  My hair dresser and a dear friend and we found an new inspiration for my hair.  Since it was such a drastic change I decided to snapchat the process.    Needless to say I am OBSESSED with my new hair and I'm gong to have to teach myself how to curl it like Liz did because Payden loves it this way.
