Country Stampede 2013

Country Stampede 2013 has come and gone. It is crazy how fast this weekend went by, I felt like the week leading up to the small vacation was the longest week of my life and then the festivities of the weekend went by super quick.

This past weekend with Aunt Brenda, and Hamilton cousins Brittney and Brooke, as well as some of Brenda’s aunts was a blast!! Brittney, Brooke and I went down on Thursday afternoon to see the band Little Big Town. After arriving there and putting our chairs down we had to race back to our car because there was a large storm with lighting coming that way; so we left our chairs on the concert field and hung out in our car. The storm was huge and super long and by the time it was over it was already 10 pm and we still had two bands to go. The concert field was filled with mud and our seats were soaking wet. Overall though, Thursday night was a blast and so worth it. Little Big Town stayed through the storm and put on a show after the storm had past, making the concert end at around 2 in the morning. I was one tired lady, but I was thrilled because I got to see one of my favorite bands live!

Thursday night we stayed at Brittney and Brooke’s cousin Chad’s house and he made us breakfast the next morning, even though we didn’t wake up until like 10 an because of the late night we had before. It was the nicest thing ever to have a free place to stay for the night and to have breakfast made for us. After breakfast on Friday morning we started packing up to meet Brenda and the rest of the gang at their hotel, the hotel we would be staying at for the rest of the weekend. After a few mirror pictures and checking into the hotel room we were all ready to go to the Friday shows. The shows that night were Jake Owen and Jason Aldean and let me tell you, they were AMAZING shows! Friday was such a fun night! We were all dancing and singing/screaming the songs together. At the end of the night we had a few drunken ladies and had to make a late night run to McDonalds before hitting the sheets at the hotel and calling it a night. Friday was a blast!

Saturday morning started off with an awesome breakfast provided by the hotel and a few hours of us ladies slowly getting ourselves ready for the day. That getting ready process consisted of more mirror pictures taken by Brittney and myself. Saturday afternoon’s tradition is to take shopping trip at the mall in town before heading to the concert field for the concerts. The shopping afternoon was a blast and we all got a lot of awesome items at awesome prices. The Saturday night concerts were not nearly as a good as the night before but we still had a good night. The concerts on Saturday were Casey James, Scotty McCreery, and Trace Adkins. Trace Adkins music is good but now of us are that into him nor did we really enjoy his concert but overall it was a fun night spent with the family.

Sunday is the day that most years we leave but this year Brittney, Brooke and I decided we HAD to stay for the last concert because it was Miranda Lambert. Miranda Lambert is seriously one of my all time favorite country artist and I had to stay. So Sunday morning started with us packing up everything in our hotel room. After a lot of struggles and even a few moments were we thought our keys were lost we checked out of the hotel and had a big breakfast at Crackle Barrel. Even Chad joined us for the breakfast. The food was amazing and it was a fun last event as the big group for the weekend. After breakfast since the three of us were staying and had a few hours to kill we decided to go on a movie date to see “The Purge”. We were all super excited to see it but at the end of the movie we were all just frustrated because the ending was awful. But it was still fun and it was a great way to spend a few hours inside before heading out into the heat for the last concert. Miranda Lambert was amazing! It was all of ours second times seeing her live and it was just as great as the first time. Her concerts are so chill but she puts on such an amazing show! I will always be willing to see her live just because of how good she is as an artist and how much fun her shows are. The only thing we regret about staying through the Sunday night concert was that we decided to drive home that same night. Let me tell you that was difficult. The struggle I have all day today, the Monday following, is real and I am getting to old for pulling all nighters and going to work the next day. But hey, you live and you learn and we had an amazing weekend! Not to mention Sunday night resulted in my favorite photo of the weekend. Overall it was an amazing weekend with my Hamilton family, and extended family and I cannot wait until the next year’s concerts!!
