Happy birthday Vegas cat

Image
Judge us if you please but today is our cat child's birthday. Adopting a pet was the best decision we could had ever made. Vegas is the best cat and we are so obsessed with being her cat parents.  Payden and I went to dinner tonight at one of our favorite restaurants, BWW (seriously we may have a problem). But Payden made sure we stopped by Walmart to get Vegas a new you for her birthday. He seriously is the cutest.  Well here's a post dedicated to our cat's second birthday. We love our cat child and we may be those crazy cat people.

Five Years!

Image
Five years ago this weekend I was officially initiated into Alpha Phi. It is crazy to think that it was already five years ago. So much has happened and changed since then. No matter the drama and troubles that I've had, I will always cherish the friendships that I've made from this organization. I will forever be proud that I went Greek in college and I will continue being a proud Alpha Phi.  It was cool that I got to celebrate my five year with a member of my pledge class and my best friend. I would never have the friendships that I do without becoming a member of this great organization.  This weekend was also our Founder's Day celebration for my chapter.  I always love going to Founder's Day because it is always so much fun. Plus the food is great and there is always awesome raffle items. This year I even won FOUR of the raffle items I put tickets in for. I never win anything so that was an added bonus.  Here are some pictures from the celebration.

Homemade NuWay Burgers

Image
Growing up in Wichita, Kansas my husband has always known about the 'crumply burgers' at NuWay. I on the other hand had never heard of such a thing and never had the nerve to try the restaurant chain that I had never heard of. Yet since we have been dating since high school he eventually got me to try it and I have loved them ever since. When we moved out on our own I wanted to try and save money and figured I could make the 'crumply burgers' myself. After some trial and error I have come up with a recipe that works perfectly for us. A friend asked me to share the recipe, remember that I am not a chef though so there are no real measurements for the recipe but more of a "do what you feel is right". Ingredients: 1 pound of hamburger meat (or more depending on how many you are serving) mustard dill pickles white onion (we only use a little bit, but we always have onions on hand in our place so we take what we need each time) hamburger buns sliced c...

2nd Anniversary Trip

Image
Another fun tradition that we have started is going on a trip on or around our anniversary. It can be a big trip or a small one, doesn't matter as long as we can get away for a little bit. This year we decided to go to Oklahoma City. We drove down Friday afternoon after we both got off of work which meant we didn't get settled into our hotel until around 8 that night. So that means it was room service and "The Walking Dead" marathon for the two of us.  Saturday we did a lot, which made for a lot of walking for me. But it was totally worth it and was such a fun day. Minus the whole struggling to understand how to get around the city. And minus the fact that my car got hit in a hit and run in one of the parking lots and the bumper got some paint damage.  On Saturday we went to the OKC Zoo, a shooting store (which was also a range...it was super cool!) , lunch at Taco Mayo (which his uncle Bryce said we had to try), Bass Pro Shop (which was his ...

TWO years!

Image
Payden and I have been married TWO years today! Today also marks the officially anniversary of our first date, SEVEN years ago! It s eems like just yesterday we were in high school on our first date. The years have flown by, through all of the good times & bad, we find ourselves happier than ever.  I can never image spending these past two years being married to anyone better than him. After seven years together you’d think I’d be tired of him but every day he surprises me and reminds me of the many reasons I feel in love with him back in high school. Most people can’t say they married their high school sweetheart but I am proud to say that I did. Payden  is the most caring, supportive, protective, crazy, funny, comical man ever! I love all his crazy quirks and wouldn't change a thing about him. It may be cliché but  Payden  actually makes me want to be a better person. When I am with him, I strive to be the wife that he needs and wants in this crazy thing w...

Anniversary Photo Tradition: Round 2

Image
Last year we started the tradition of taking anniversary pictures each year. Next week we will be married for two years and we took our anniversary pictures last weekend in old town in Wichita. I'm in love with our pictures and so proud  of how different I look even from last year's photos. I'm excited to see our photos change through the years and see our family grow.  Here are our second anniversary photos. I will add more as I get them.
