What I'm Reading: 2nd Edition

After ending the book "Divergant" and watching the movie I started the second book of the series "Insurgent".  This book is just as good as the first one in the series. I love the theme of the series and the love story is intriguing. Now I have to wait for this movie to come out!! But once I'm done I'll be starting the third book of the series. I will finish the series before the 2nd movie comes out.  I have so many books on my reading list so hopefully this summer is filled with concerts and a lot of reading.  Recommend the book and recommend the series! So good!

Our/My Weekend (April 24th-27th 2014)

Image
It has been an eventful weekend for me. Really Friday was busy but so much fun!  Thursday (which isn't REALLY the weekend but was fun) I went with Maggi to the 2014 basketball celebration and we got to get pictures with Zach Bush!  First off on Friday during lunch I got to meet up with everyone for Phil Hamilton HVAC to celebrate Payden's last day working for the company. Pretty crazy that after ten years he is saying goodbye to the family company.  Friday night was one of our MAJOR events for the LLS Man of the Year campaign: Cancer is a Drag! The event went so well and we made so much money for the cause. Dannielle and I had a great time!  Saturday was mainly just spent with me at work, exhausted all day. But I did get some new clothes in from online shopping!  Sunday (today) was spent lounging around and doing laundry at his parent's house. We did have to take a picture with our Easter basket from him mom, you know a week late.  Tomorrow he starts his job at Koch. This i

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT

That is the status I posted on Facebook today. We have been holding in the news for awhile because we wanted everything to be finalized but a week from today my husband will be starting his "big kid job"!  I seriously cannot say how proud I am of him and how much I love that man.  I'm very excited to start this new part of life with him!

Easter 2014

Well Easter Sunday has come and gone. It has been a fun filled day with both sides of our families.  We started the morning off with some cuddle and tv time with our cat kid and some housecleaning.  In the afternoon we went to the extended, extended family members house and land to celebrate Easter with most of the Hamilton family and some of their extended family. And of course the guys spent the afternoon out on the land shooting Payden's new gun.  In the evening we went to my parent's house for dinner with my family. My side of the family is always way more chill on holidays then his. So it was a lot of hanging out and talking but still a lot of fun.  It was a fun Christmas. And this upcoming week is going to be exciting. Can't wait to share some big news!  ^^my Easter hunny and I (haha get it?!)  Happy Easter everyone!

Movie Review: Divergent

Image
My friend from HIGH SCHOOL, Tristan and I planned on seeing this movie together since we both started reading the book at the same time. So tonight was that night!  $5 movie night downtown is one of the best things about Wichita and it was so much fun catching up and chatting with Tristan.  Now onto the actual movie: there were parts of it where I was like "THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED IN THE BOOK", which is the struggle of people who actually read the books before the movies. But overall the movie was so good and did a pretty good job sticking to the book. I really did enjoy the movie and the acting was so good! I would good this movie a four star rating (and that being because the book need in hates when there are differences between book and movie). But the movie was very good!!!

What I'm Reading: 1st Edition

Another blog that I follow has started talking about her reading list and as many people know I am an avid reader. I mean, I did major in English Literature in college. I invested in a Nook two birthdays ago and I haven't looked back! I love my nook and I almost always read books on it. I very rarely buy actual books now.  So I'm going to start these list with the book I just finished (and finally getting to see the movie for tonight). Divergant. I had heard so many good things about the book series, and I am a big fan of the Hunger Games series so I knew I needed to get around to reading it. When I saw that they were making a movie about it I knew I needed to get on the ball of reading it because I have always been they person who has to read the book before watching the movie. (Hints why I still haven't seen Eat, Pray, Love).  Let me tell you this book did not disappoint. It was a little hard to follow at the start but once you get the theme down it makes so much sense an

Movie Review: Captain America- The Winter Solider

Image
Last night was balcony movie date night for Payden and I. We are getting to that time of the year where all of these movies that we want to see are coming out one after another so there will be many more movie dates in our future. Our favorite type of date night.  Anyway we love Marvel movies and always see the movies on opening weekend (if not opening night) and we loved (and own) the first Captain America movie so it was a given that we'd like this one.  And boy did we like it! The movie was fantastic, I personally like it better than the first one do much more action!! Hands down a five star rating (or higher). Such a great movie and if you like Marvel movies like we do you will love this!!
